Phone Beer
Inspired by phones and beers. I looked through my old drunk msgs to include here but I just hurt my feelings. I purchased the grey yarn from Masuzakiya yarn store in Osaka. I recommend it if you are in the area, all the yarns are sorted by country of origin and the owners feel passionate about the products. The black cotton yarn is left over from another project
Currently I am sitting at the Narita Airport, the girl next to me just called me pretty…. wth I love her. I have a bag full of snacks from Family Mart, I have eaten half of them. I was stressed I wasn’t going to make this flight, but I have made it. I have no accomodation tonight…. I land at 1am and have a bullet train for Beijing at 6.30am lol. My sister has left so is unable to edit this…
This is what I have been doing while I knit this hat:
Sitting in parks
I love to knit in parks. It is nice to see what is going on and sometimes someone will come and talk to you - so epic. Also fun to see what activities go on at different parks. Lumpini park in Bangkok is so great, so many people gathering to exercise and hang out. I do love the Japanese toilet culture - park toilets are so clean and not stressful to use and I have a weak bladder. I love Ueno park in Tokyo, so great.
My sister also went to Nara to feed the deer, so epic and cute.
I am excited for the parks of China.
Taking public transport
I take the bus in Melbourne, no one is ever on the bus so it is pretty calm most of the time. I almost got my dermal ripped out on the train in Tokyo during rush hour, I then almost missed my flight to Shanghai because I was being a fool and not paying attention to how to actually get to the airport, foolmaxxing. I love to knit on the #250 bus in Melbourne, so nice. Knitting on the subways here was also sweet when it wasn’t packed.
Eating
I love convenience store food, also all food the food in general. I wish I could say I drunk more beers, next time. Phoebe and I ate so many pancakes, I think we averaged 2-3 per day. This couple in Kyoto made these epic pancakes, the triangle thing is a folded pancake and the middle is raw, pretty yummy. The supermarket by our accomodation in Tokyo is 24 hours and has roasted sweet potatoes, I have had so many, god they are so good and only 159 yen. I will miss the 7/11 smoothies and the sandwiches and pancakes.
We had the most epic pancakes on our last day, if you are in Tokyo you should get them. I don’t know what the place is called but ask me and I will find out.
Pics:
I went to the post office today (23/3) and posted my friend a little gift I found that made me think of them. I suck with posting things, a couple customers of mine will know this to be true. In this instance, I used the wet roller thing like a child and ended up with an envelope which lost a lot of it’s structural integrity, but it was really sweet, me and the postman laughed together which made it all worth it in the end. He said he would wait for it to dry to process it and I said sorry for the mess.
I brought so much yarn from Japan that I have had to give up one of my jackets to make room. At least if I get cold I can knit myself a jumper lol.
Ok boarding plane, not editing this further.
